Hood Louver Letter - Customer Installation:

Premise: One of our customers sent in pictures of a different kind of application that he's using our hood louvers for. Please read the captions below for more information regarding this truly unique solution for his Jeep Cherokee.

Here is my AIRAID cold air box/filter. It is open at the top and seals closed when the hood is shut.

Here I draw the lines on my hood to show the general area where your Side Louvers will be installed in the reverse of the usual, with the louver openings facing forward to act as hood scoops taking in the ram air.

The Side Louvers are just sitting in place in this photo. Notice I am putting them on "backwards" -- with the louvered opening forward to scoop in fresh air to my air filter. This makes a NOTICEABLE increase in power!!

Per your instructions, I taped around the outside of the Side Louvers. I will make my cutout about 1/2" inboard of this outline.

Here is an under-hood view of the installed louvers. We have many big insects in the desert, so I put a piece of screen in place to keep from scooping them in!

This under-hood photo shows your Side Louvers and your Size Medium Hi-Flow Jeep Hood Louvers. As you can see, I could have used Size Large, but I wasn't sure when I ordered.
